We have a relieving Reading Recovery teacher- Deb Klein .
All new staff and students participated in a mihi whakatau last week .
We welcome Jason Te Mete (Jason Te Mete (Ngāti Ranginui) is a freelance actor, musical director, pianist and playwright) who is working with our kaiako and ākonga as we create our 2023 Operetta together.
The title is ‘Making a Mark’. Each class will prepare a part to contribute to the whole performance.
This links to our whole school unit of study in Term 2- Making a Mark
Rich Question: How can we make our world a better place?
Subsidiary Questions:
What’s our Impact - on the world, our community, your place, our place?
How can we show other enviro schools how we have made an impact?
The show takes place across 4 days and evenings from September 4-7.
Every student is in every performance. Hence we have a Teacher Only day on Friday September 8!
The show takes place in our school hall . Hence we sell tickets as we really only have enough seats for the school community to see this amazing show once.
The performers all get to see the show as part of our Dress Rehearsal process.
All classes are supervised in their classrooms when not on stage.
Your child will be talking about the part they are playing, very soon.
3 pm pick up.
Please observe Road Safety rules at this time . Please use the pedestrian crossing.
Please do not double park or use the strictly Staff Car Park.
Yellow lines are there to keep us safe. Please do not park on them .
Bikes
It is wonderful that so many families come to school by bike/scooter.
Unfortunately, if you fail to take a bike/scooter home, it may not be safe . Even if it is locked and or in the locked cage, it may well be taken . We do not have insurance for this.
Ngā mihi,
Pippa Wright
