'This year is the 25th anniversary of Maths Week!
The first Maths Week was held in 1998.
To mark the occasion, we are holding a “Design a Maths Week logo” competition. The competition will be open to all students in Year 1 – 11.
Have a look at the rules, here are two about the design"
- The logo must have the words Aotearoa New Zealand Maths Week in it.
- Logos can be hand-drawn, and scanned or photographed for entry, or they can be computer drawn. Entries are submitted on the Maths Week website.'

Room 11's spooky writing
Building suspense in our writing
We have been learning how to write in a way that builds suspense and draws the reader in, we wrote spooky stories to practice this technique.
We learnt:
Different types of 'hook ins' to start a story : question, fact, sound effect (onomatopoeia), vivid description or dialogue.
Referring to something 3 times with our senses without saying what it is.
