There will be a blessing of the new rebuilt senior block on Thursday 4 February at 6am, followed by breakfast. Also, a formal opening will be held later in the term, time and date to be notified.



Update: The entire senior block has been re-roofed and made secure. Plans are in the process of being drawn up to being the rebuilding of Rooms 8 & 9, and the refurbishment of the block. Hopefully this work will be started in Term 4 and completed before the beginning of the 2010 school year.


On Wednesday 15th April there was a major fire at Hamilton East School. (Photos below)

Room 8 has been totally gutted, Room 9 destroyed by smoke, water and the roof gutted, Room 10 damaged.

Rooms 11, 12 and The Orchard were also affected by smoke.

The school will be closed on the first two days of term, Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th April.

A letter explaining this has been sent out to all families. (see below)

Term two will now begin on Wednesday 29th of April.

We are expecting a relocateable classroom to be on site by then for Room 9 students.

Rooms 11 and 12 will work in other spaces until cleaning and repainting of their rooms is complete.

SCHOOL CLOSURE

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Due to the recent fire at Hamilton East School, the school will be closed for all students on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th April.  Normal school hours will resume on Wednesday 29th April.

The trips to the museum have been reallocated and parent support would be greatly appreciated to make these a success.  Please let your class teacher know if you are available on the following days:
